Hello again!

Crappy photos I know.. No light at all today (winter here) But I’m just trying to get posts done! So neeerrr anyone who sneers at them :p

Here is the BEST daffodil pattern I’ve ever seen. Of course Lucy from attic24 made it for us (well herself) and is kind enough to give us a tut on how to make them.
As always she uses cotton here and it definitely looks better than mine. I’m going to try some in bamboo but they will be floppy so might have to PVA the back .. Aaanyway.

Here is the link straight to the pattern but I HIGHLY suggest taking a look around the attic … If you haven’t already. Think about donating a cup of coffee to her if you get something out of it. I think people think she’s rich and just does this because. But she does it out of love. And she just cant help herself but share. I admire that so much.

Daffodil pattern/tut,

http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/crochet-daffodil.html

Her photo tuts are like no other. They cover EVERYTHING.

So mine need some blocking because I keep wearing them the petals are curling. Hehe. I just wanted to show you guys. Also there is a photo of the back .. See how neat everything is? Man she makes good patterns.
The trumpet part of the flower can be fiddly at first go but once you’ve done it you’ll be making more i assure you :)

THANKS LUCY!!! Thankyou for giving me a blog that is SO engaging.

You can go back through the archives and read and see in great detail all her adventures. Lucy lives in THE MOST incredible place. I mean seriously!? It’s like feary land.
It’s a bit like that here, just no canals.

K, that’s it
Get hooked!
Enjoy! xx

Been making PLARN earrings!!
Was in last issue of inside crochet. They worked really well. I will do a detailed review on this pattern. Things have been a bit rough lately but I am NOT giving up on my blog!!
This was my first attempt, I think I know how I can make them look better.
They feel great on & contrast well on skin. So I see a necklace in the not to distant future. :)
Been madly looking for coloured plastic shopping bags!! Haha!
Anything that re-uses or recycles .. I’m up for ;)

Hope you all had a fabby Christmas & new year?
I had THE BEST time in Sydney (home) with Mum & Dad :) Met her darling friend Kylie & her even more darling and inspirational Brie!! She is 13 & taught me so much from the short time I met her.
As we said to Kylie “what ever you’re doing there, you’re doing a great job .. What a kid!?” .. She is remarkable.
Steiner school that’s all ill say ;)

K, well ill start uploading Christmas presents that were made, and reviews etc once again. Just been doing some house stuff , like new fence in front yard & much needed pruning. Been in the wars a bit too.

Have missed my followers, hope to see you all around soon.

Best wishes!
Enjoy!

Ps/ I’m sure this ‘melting technique’ is online .. From making things in PLARN and then melting them under baking paper & iron. Gimme a yell if want to know more ;)

"Yarn! .. come and meet flower, i think you guys would have alot in common" … "Hey Yarn, how are you!? Hey .. meet flower".

a love story.

and im sorry to break character but i LOOOOOVE that yarn! it look edible! Like white chic covered freeze dried strawberries!!!! yummmmmmm :)

Enjoy!

I wore it out today, it still has the button I don’t like but it’s got a brooch pin on now so I thought why not give it a whirl!? So I did.
It was great people were asking where I got it etc, which is always a good sign. Even gave 1 phone number to a woman who wants one. She’s going to pick the yarn & I will make :)
I think it looks pretty on this cheesecloth poncho of mine.
Oh but I MUST get on with bonita’s dragon stitch booties .. Oh I mean crocodile stitch ;)

Aah I’m up and it’s MY day :)

Oh I love Mondays.. I have nothing on on Mondays? I’m so lucky , give me a chance to have a good week lol.
So on the weekend I wanted to keep up the booties, but it was too hard to find space I need to concentrate on this pattern!! That’s why I usually do hard stuff during the week.
But this is also why I am getting the back room which was a storage room .. Grrr .. Moving on .. And now is becoming right before my little eyes MY craft room.
My partner helped by clearing out some stuff to go to the tip and recycling. The tv he moved was so big I had no idea it was taking up so much space!! So we moved a few more things around , this was unplanned so we stopped eventually, and I can really see what I planned coming to fruition! Woo hoo!! A follower on here has been SO inspiring with her constant flow of interiors to DIE for. So thankyou petitenavou!!! :)

So I didn’t get round to the bootie, but I did sit down and decided I wanted a purple and pink Irish rose brooch, I have so many of them from beginning this whole crochet thing, but none in purp or pink. So I did round 1 and realized that cause it was 11pm and I was dng this in the dark and my ipad was on a funny angle … I did row 3 petals for the centre/1st row petals!!?? I thoght to myself gee that looks weird but I know what I’m doing, it’s just an Irish rose for goodness sakes …. Lol.

So in the end, I had to make it up from there!! And boy it turned out a beauty!!!! It’s a rather huge brooch, but some girls wear MASSIVE flower brooches so this should work .. I think.

I will share MY FIRST PATTERN EVER with you guys and photos :)
Have a great day night and a great week everyone, xx

I guess I should share photos and then see of anyone is actually interested int he pattern ;)

So happy when the glue dried!! I made mine of yarn/wool not cotton so I wasn’t sure how the glueing was going to go but as you can see my leaves stand right up they don’t droop at all .. Except the bottom blue one is in 100% wool and it needs another dollop of glue to keep it up with the others. But I’m just amazed at what a little bit of glue can do!!! Now I see how ALOT of the Christmas decorations I was looking at at Xmas hung. They must have glued or fixed the back so it’s stiff.
You COULD also as an added measure, glue tiny wooden skewers across the veins on the back.
So I’m here to say that wool workers just as good as cotton. ALOT of what used was cheap yarn, but it is stiff yarn so I think that helped alot. But also the pure wool seems to have worked too! So just use what you’ve got if you don’t want to venture out or if your poor like me and use what you have! :)
I DO want some cotton though. I have 4ply cotton, so I HAVE worked with it and can see the benefits. And it’s also just a bit more modern perhaps. But I find cotton picks up grime and dirt really easily. So of course there are pro’s and cons.

This is definatley one of those crochet/hand made items that look WAAAAAAAAY better in person. The colours I assure you are bright and saturated in colour. It’s just pops! … But I couldn’t capture that today …
Ok so here is my DARK photo of the whole thing! Oh so annoying its SO dark and rainy for 2 days now .. So I can’t get a decent photo!! But at least for me it’s complete and it’s up for all to see :)
I’ll take better photos when A. When I get the special battery I need for my high res camera B. when there is some natural light!!! Haha! :)
Hope you like … What you can see. xx

Oh and I STILL haven’t decided what’s going in the centre of the flower!!! Arrghhhh .. Buttons but that’s as far as I’ve got because I pour my buttons out and then I’m just in button land and it’s so hard to decide lol!

So here is the flower just before I added the hanging loop and crochet and beaded embellishment hanging from the bottom. Looks great I think .. Already started another for my Mum.
Now I was so excited to get up today and photograph it .. But it’s been a very dark rainy 2 days and I cannot seem to photograph the whole thing very well. So in next post ( cause I’m on my phone and u can’t post more than 1 on yr phone) I’ll post a dark pic of the whole thing! :)

That button in the middle looks good if u were just leaving the flower as is,but with the embellishments it’s too much.. So that’s the last thing I e got to do is DECIDE what goes in the middle of the flower!
Shame cause I DO love that button.
Enjoy! And make one!
I’ll post a link to Lucy’s blog attic24, but please consider a donation if you start making heaps of stuff of hers,
She goes to ALOT of effort to put the tutorials together :)
Get happy and get HOOKED! :p

In the final stage now of Lucy’s Happy Flower!! The glue has set beautifully! The leaves stand up on their own they don’t droop at all! Yay! There is 1 that is in a different 100% wool that isnt maybe going to stand up for long so I’ll reinforce him.
But so far so fabulous!!! I am SO proud of it, I feel like a little kid.
I wanna show everyone and stuff which is not like me.
I started out this crochet quest thinking blankets,clothes,beanies.. But people like Lucy at attic24 have shown me you can do anything! And not to mention decorations, I had not really thought of that.

Lucy has a donation button, I really must send her SOMETHING, I don’t have an income ( I’m hoping to sell crocheted items eventually) but she has given me so much from her blog that she deserves more than a Thankyou. The EFFORT she goes to for those tutorials!!! I know because I’ve done stuff like that. She covers everything and even pre-empts things you might have a problem with. Everything I’ve made so far has worked out down to the last stitch from her tutorials.
So thank you LUCY!!

I’ll post a pic when it’s all assembled and hanging!
I’m already planning my next one, which I’ll HAVE to give to Mum & Dad. Oh if only my Grandmother was still around :( She’d be SO PROUD.
She was a prolific crocheter, I’ve posted a couple if pics of my baby blankets. I should post some of the MANY queen and king sized afghans.
So the ability, and tenacity to crochet is embedded in the family, cause HER mother my Great G Mother was even more full on. I have recently inherited her hooks! They are so amazing. And about 100 years old. They are the smallest hooks I’ve ever seen.. Like less than 1mm. So she must have done tatting and lace.

Ok I better get back to sewing in the hanging loop and the beaded/crochet decoration that hangs from the bottom! Weeeeeee!

If you read this far I congratulate you! Lol! … This was a bit of a rant.
I don’t think my partner can take much more crochet/bead and button talk today. So on the blog it goes haha! :)
