An African flower journey …
I have always wanted to make one of these. Its just getting round to all these things.
So last week i made an african flower granny square. Its turned out very well after some steam blocking. The yarn i used is this cheap as chips yarn but OH it stitches up BEAUTIFULLY. its light weight, like lace or sock weight EVEN though they say its DK .. it is NOT DK. aaaanyway, the colours i used in the flower are the three colours i have in that yarn and they have worked quite nicely together .. and after feeling what the square felt like .. all soft and gorgeous I’m thinking a shawl or baby blanket! With picot edging.
So starting off ..
then .. 1,2,3 .. all together .. awwwwwww
and then ..BEFORE blocking ..
So there she is. A bit flat from the steam, but it plumped back again :)
Here is the link i used;
Enjoy! if you get stuck feel free to ask the maker of the video or me if you like :)
The drop stitches can be confusing if you’re a beginner .. but its really easy i swear!
